Health & Housing in qathet: artwork from people with lived experience of homelessness

This artwork was made in collaboration with folks who have experienced being unhoused in the qathet region and with SUSTAIN (Substance Users Teaching Advocacy Instead of Neglect).

During the summer of 2022, participants created a group collage during a circle conversation about health and housing in our region. After follow-up artmaking sessions and conversations with SUSTAIN, the final artwork was translated into the above zine to circulate the imagery throughout the qathet community.

All text is direct quotes from the circle participants. Above is the zine in digital format which can be downloaded for print upon request. Scroll through the images to see each page.

The original group piece can be seen in the video below. This artwork was used by permission and artists collectively decided to remain anonymous.
